Sign Maker: 3D printable multicolor signs and nameplates
Build a sign the way you would lay one out on paper: start with a plate in the shape and colour you want, set a border in from the edge, then drop text, icons, shapes and holes onto it and place each one where it goes. Every element carries its own colour and height, so the result is a real multicolor sign, not a flat engraving. There is no CAD and no painting in the slicer: the file comes out laid flat on the plate with each colour on its own filament, checked before you can download it, and support free whichever way you print it.
How it works
- Pick the base plate: a rounded rectangle, a circle, a hexagon, a shield, a heart and more, sized to whatever your sign needs.
- Set the border: a coloured ring in from the edge, thin, medium or thick, or none at all.
- Add elements: text in a printable font, stock icons and shapes. Give each one a colour, a size, a raised height and a place on the plate.
- Punch holes for screws, a keyhole or a hook, anywhere on the plate.
- Tell it your nozzle, then export a multicolor .3mf ready for Bambu Studio or Orca.
What it does that the others do not
A real sign, not an engraving
Text and shapes stand proud of the plate in their own colours, each at its own height. It reads as a made sign, not a single-colour slab with grooves cut into it.
Plates and borders that fit any shape
The border is cut with a distance field, so it follows a heart or a star cleanly, not just a rectangle. Corner radius, colour and thickness are all yours.
Everything prints flat, no supports
The plate lies on the bed and every element rises straight off it with vertical walls and a flat top. Nothing overhangs, so it comes off the plate clean.
Real multicolour on its own filaments
Each colour is its own part on its own slot. The file drops into the slicer already split, so you assign filaments and print.

Recommended print settings
- No supports, either orientation. The plate is flat and every element is vertical walled.
- Each colour is a separate filament slot in the .3mf. Assign filaments in the slicer and print.
- A 0.4mm nozzle prints the fine text well. Tell the studio your real nozzle so it can size things to it.
- Plate thickness of 3mm is a sturdy sign. Raised elements of 1 to 2mm read clearly.
Questions
What file does it export?
A multicolor .3mf with each colour on its own filament slot, sitting flat on the plate. It opens straight in Bambu Studio or Orca, no painting and no manual splitting.
Does it need supports?
No. The plate is flat and every element stands straight up off it with vertical walls and a flat top, so nothing overhangs and nothing needs support.
What can I put on a sign?
A base plate in a shape you pick, a coloured border set in from the edge, text in a font that prints, stock icons and shapes, and holes punched through for screws or a hook. Each element has its own colour, size, height and position.
Is it free, and can I sell what I make?
The studio is free and unlimited once you are signed in. Whether you may sell the prints depends on the commercial rights on your plan, and you can register a design with Signet so your ownership is on record.
